What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 241

You can work out how to join in with this weekly jaunt by clicking on the links above 'What is WOYWW' and 'How to...WOYWW'.  Thank you.

So gentle Deskers...how's it looking from your angle?

I must admit to a certain teeny smugness.  From where I'm standing, I appear to be getting on without a fuss.  This photo, taken in daylight on Tuesday early afternoon, shows the work in progress for a Birthday Book...a proposed workshop project..and the best excuse I ever had for playing with the new papers I bought at the Shopkeeper Gal's.  It's a collection called Mother Goose by Graphic 45.  Redolent of Mary Englebreit in many ways, which is probably why I was suckered into buying it.  I love it.   On the deckchair is a group of bagged cards - for my first workshop of 2014...the ones inspired by the handmade cards I was given at Christmas.  I'l share them soon.  I'm a bit shy about them for now.  I don't want to insult the original cards!

So please join in.  We'd like to see what you're doing and where you're doing it.  Don't overly advertise your business, or join just to promote your own Meme...it's not conducive to the spirit of the thing.  Keep it relatively short if you can..there's a lot to visit! Put WOYWW in your post title, link the post here and make at least some reciprocal visits...it makes the Wednesday world go around.  It really does. Oh and if you visit, please leave your link number with your comment...it helps to find you on the list.  Thankoo.

  1. Knew it was too good to be true, thought I'd got #1 position for a moment before refreshing. Woke at 3am and was just about to go back to bed but one last go to see if you'd posted and you HAD - yippee. I did my first craft club at my house on Monday and would love any ideas as to what to do next - did you get many responses the other day? BJ#2

  2. Hah! I'm first! How cool is that! But, wait, it must be awfully early in your part of the world? It's mid afternoon here, and I think I shall leave work soon :)
Julia, you have the best excuses for playing with new papers! Someone should shoot me if I buy any more new stuff! I spy a baby Xyron (same colour as mine) which I find amazingly useful, don't you? Have a good week,

  12. Here I was sluffing off after posting several hours ago. As a result, you surprised me with your early post.

From what I've seen of Mary Engelbreit's art, I have to agree this is quite reminiscent of her work. And even though I'm not a scrapbooker, I am totally in love with anything G45. So, I can't wait to see the Birthday Book.

Have a great WOYWW from a very late # 16.

Unbelievably, because this winter has generally been mild, there are loads of trees coming into bloom right now two months early. I did a double take when I saw your desk, so well organised. I love proper nursery rhyme stuff. xx Maggie #24

I have the cutest little packs of Mary Engelbreit papers that I got for fifty cents one time at Michaels. Email me your address and I'll send you one! I hope the next time I go to St. Louis, I can visit her shop. So proud of how you're getting on and getting things done! You have to show us the book when you're done. Hugs! Sandy Leigh #73

  71. Wow, your new year is starting out very creatively. Love the papers you've chosen. Your desk looks great to me. I've been on a cleaning and organizing binge. I guess there are worse binges to be on. So my desk isn't going to look too creative, although I did take time the other night to work on a card I've had in mind for a bit. Happy WOYWW and THANK YOU so much for keeping me focused...Hugs from Northern California!

  79. Thanks for your nice comment, Julia - yes, it's really great, having settled in, and starting to use my beautiful new room! The only problem is finding enough time and energy to be in there as much as I'd like. Working on Dad's album is incredibly therapeutic and I feel very close to him as I think about his life and how to depict it. As for the computer, I am spending quite a bit of time familiarising myself with the new system - I'll get there on the end.
