What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 313

Well I don't know about you, I think last week was a triumph. A flurry of activity and some fun, and to top it all, desks!  It was lovely of you to join in. Please carry on!
My desk this week shows my state of mind and I'm anxious to restore some order! You can see the detritus left after making some workshop samples, a couple of birthday cards and some bookwork. Really, 'push back', layers...all of it, right here!

And I think that angle is actually rather more kind than reality - look at it from my standing height...
A bit grim, isn't it. A tidy up is very much in order. And I will. In a minute. When I'm in the mood. And don't be fooled by Tuesday afternoon's amazing sunshine. It was between bleak grey clouds and big fat showers and a blowy, blustery wind that is relentless and a bit damaging. Not great for June. Ah well. Cheer me up - show me what you're doing this week,it will make me feel more inclined to tidy.....I hope!

Not sure mine will cheer you up, I've been shopping again... what a difference to the views from both angles.. it looks ok to me, lots of piles sure, but it's not that untidy!

Oops. I meant to repost on an old thread to delete the * but forgot! Ah well, at least I'll be ready for next year. I tried trying up yesterday but then covered my desk in accounting paperwork. Ugh. Not at all fun. Things are looking up today. have a good one and let's hope crop is on for next month.

I was sorry to have missed it. Technology. Pfftt! Having just watched the weather forecast, June could be on its way this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

I got number 1! first time ever :) woo hoo! :) kept refreshing it to make sure.

Now on to desks Julia i am sure that i have seen your desk much messier than this before so i would say that its just a little busy ;) hope you get time/inclination to tidy it up later so that you can creat again :D

pigging awful weather here too, and facebook has just reminded me that this time last year it was lovely and warm - yesterday i was taking bets on how long the trees across the road were going to last before they snapped as they were being blown so hard they were bent double! hoping for better weather today

Your desk looks perfectly fine and clean to me, but that's not saying much considering the mess mine is usually in. Couldn't get a photo of my desk cos it's really overcast and dull. If it makes you feel better with your weather, it's only 18deg c in the house right now and I think I'm about to freeze to a solid block. It may snow in Brisbane for the first time ever. It's Captain Jack Sparrows' fault, he is filming the next Pirates movie just up the road, he brought the cold with him.
Have a great week.

I'm sorry to say I doubt my desk will do little to make things better for you....It is just a working desk in action this week [and contains those very [not] fav of mine....more b****** curtains] but hey ho it's work and it all buys the bread. I've had no time for creative play this week because we have had different builders coming each day to look at the work we want doing and hopefully they will all be back with quotes later in the week.....yes, things are getting exciting now :-)
Hugs,
Annie x

I'm glad it's not just my house that looks bombed, How does that happen when there's only two of us and we've been away anyhow. It's me what's the culprit not Philip but he gets shouted at for leaving a piece of paper where it shouldn't be haha.
You've been mighty busy by the looks of things. Have a good week Julia and thanks for the peep around.

There was a "flurry of activity" on my desk too :)!
I don't know whether one should force oneself to tidy, or wait til one feels like it. A dilemma, eh?
My laptop wouldn't display the Linky list, but my phone would, go figure? So, I haven't checked to see if it linked correctly, will just assume that it did.
Thanks again for happy mail day yesterday :)

THANK YOU, dear Julia for the part played .. it is appreciated and not forgotten. well re your desk can say ditto with mine.. did the push and shove method to display my wonderful atc cards and did not show the rest to the left as you so bravely did.. one day it will be done .. just no breath holding on anyone's part :D

When I saw the second photo I was sure you were standing on something but after reading I'm assured you weren't. Can't remember who that is that stands on a chair to take her desk photos. I laughed when I read 'push back' layers because so many of us do that. While my desk is rather orderly this week the rest of the room is not; piles of stuff not put away because of no where to put it or because I'm too busy crafty to put it away. As soon as school is out I need to make cleaning it out and weeding the garden a priority. Happy Crafting!

Morning Julia, big thanks for introducing me to some wonderful crafters and their desks, I really enjoyed last week, I learnt heaps and saw heaps. Love your desk, it's messy but it still looks in control !! Is that a bird feeder I spy on the window ? If it is where did you get that ? Would love to craft with birds eating around me, have a good day, jac x

Hi Julia...yes a fab week last week - messy push back desk is all ok as long as one doesn't lose the vital piece of a project...it happens and I blame the fairies. Well you'll see my desk is empty...you know when you're visiting and you're having even more visitors, you can't have lunch with the dining table covered in stamping gear - have a super duper week Cheers RobynO#32

My way of tidying up is to just shove everything on this floor, leaving my desk tidy but my floor perilous! Yours looks nice and busy :)

shazsilverwolf said...

Hi Julia, you are not alone with the blustery weather, It was incredibly windy up here yesterday too.Not alone in needing to get in the mood to tidy either.Pile it up is much easier, lol. Love & Hugs, Shaz xx

Sylvia/LittleTreasures said...

Oh Julia...your desk is in havoc, but so goes it. Other things need tending so it's left alone a bit. It's part of a crafters life. I only know I could NEVER start having my bookwork or personal business there or my life would be a complete tragic affair.
We've no doubt will be having your weather today. 2 NICE days and now a forecast of doom and gloom. I hate the wind the most on a sunny day.
Enjoy a good week, I'm off to visit.

It looks and sounds like you've had an extremely busy, but very creative schedule lately. It also sounds like you've had lots of rains in your part of the world, just like me. Take care of yourself and blessings, my friend! #37

It does sound like you've been busy. Thank you again for last week's anniversary. Our weather has been crazy ---sunshine and hot - turn on the a/c, followed by cold and wet - turn on the furnace. Makes it difficult for a girl to dress for her appointments! Ha. Not complaining. It's not winter and complaining about the weather is a winter sport, not a summer one. ;)

Well we all know my desk will not spark the cleaning and orderly bug! Having said that I have shared my ATC's I have received from the crop, so there is an element of order.

I linked, then promptly fell asleep. I've only done that once before and it was a Friday Smiles with Annie. In all fairness, I didn't visit anyone on the list, either, just visiting Helen before you were awake. BTW, I hope you got my e-mail.

It's rather telling when you can photograph your desk from one angle and make it look less messy than from another. I always like it when you photograph the angle that shows the lounge.

Hope your day is going better than mine, because it appears I am definitely playing catch up about now.

Well Julia, it's not much worse than mine... I also have "push-back" on my desk, also my binding table. Some things are more important than tidying up!

I've been bookbinding again this week, also another little card to add to my growing collection.

And I'm sure something exciting will eventually emerge from the "push-back" pile on your desk. Happy Wednesday!

WoW! It really is all about perspective! Both on angle of shot, and what one considers grim! I, for one, am very curious as to what the yellow/red splashes are...is that from the Brusho's I've heard so much about over there?

I am someone that HAS to clean up after every project! I think that's my mom coming out of me. She made us put things away after we played. Not a bad thing! lol
I enjoyed seeing your workdesk and am excited to get back into sharing mine with this world. :)

I'm always amazed at how a sunny afternoon at my craft desk makes me so much more productive than a cloudy one! I love that overhead shot though--it gets us right into the drama of Julia's crafty life. You know how recently I just did a big reorganization and tidy up--changing desks even. What motivated me was some YouTube videos--and not the craft room ones--it was more about the "beautiful desk" videos..what I call it...where someone is giving you a tour of their desk because it's so gorgeous! Now since I craft at my desk it will never look perfect all the time, but I was surprisingly motivated! The sad thing is though, when our desks (as in we crafters) are tidy, we aren't making anything! Oh the drama. Happy Wednesday and hugs. Sandy Leigh

Don't think my desk will cheer you up much, Julia. It's still go stuff on from yesterday ... no time to clear it away. Our fridge/freezer is dying so spent much of yesterday shopping for a new one - in that weather too :( However, we've had some lovely sunshine today so managed to get the washing dry and spend a bit of time tidying the garden after the storm. Hope you've had enough sunshine to cheer you up too. Happy WOYWW and have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #41

At least the sun makes it look cheery.
Those winds & the rain made a mess of my hanging baskets yesterday and even broke one away from its hook so it smashed all over the porch (grrrrrr).
