What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 425

Well there's an improvement! I cleared up yesterday and will be tinkering with card making as and when I can get to it. Hurrah! That lovely black and white file is a ring binder with plastic pockets with magnetic sheets. It's full of my dies. It's not completely full, but crikey, it's heavy! As you can see, I was cutting out some leaping reindeer. Jut to try the die out really. Not feeling the whole Christmas card thing to be honest! The splattering of pens was caused by having a need for one colour and a too full pencil case! But that's OK, they'll all be wedged back in shortly, and that will make the desk look considerably tidy!
Share share share, am in need of looking...will take you with me today, more appointments and waiting is the forecast!

  3. Morning Julia, yes I have one of those die storage folders, extremely heavy when full, considering how light the individual dies are. Those reindeer are fun, you'll make some good Christmas cards with those.

  5. Those die holders are great - until you need to pick them up. No matter what you use for storage - it is heavy. The little blighters weigh on don't they.
Good luck with the appointments - hope all goes well - thinking of you.

Lovely case for your dies - mine are in A5 folders and yes, I know how heavy they are.

  12. Hi Julia, Not taking part in todays WOYWW, but wanted to see what you had been up to.

Your desk looks rather bleak since you tidied it. I find it rather unsettling, as I can usually rely on your to have the busiest desk:) LOL.

Hope you have alovely day. Sue

  14. Hi Julia,

It has been a long time since I've visited, me and my blog, we were on a break! I am glad to see your surgery all went well and you are in recovery. I hope you are not waiting too long today and that your appointments go well. It's good to see your desk again, the reindeer are great, where did you get that die?

  16. Hi Julia, I went down the binder route for dies, but then due to my lack of willpower, they started getting too heavy, so now they are all in a Really Useful Box. At least I don't have to lift that now. I spy some nice Woodware stamps at the back! Love & Hugs to you, Shaz XxX #3

  17. I do like the idea of a magnetic storage file for the dies - though I can imagine it does get very heavy! Wishing you a happy week, Julia! xx

  18. You could always use that folder for weight training - firm up the old arms etc! I know you're only responding to what customers want but I do find the whole C thing a bit much. May your reindeers leapeth with joy :-D

  19. Hi Julia, the little reindeer is adorable and your die storage folder is beautiful. I like LLJ's suggestion and could make good use of my own folder - my bingo wings could do with a bit of firming up :) Isn't it just like the thing to have to tip out all the pens to find the very one needed. Hope the appointments and waiting goes well. Hugs, Elizabeth x #28

  21. The C word is coming round far to quickly for my liking. I do lie those reindeer though - they would make cute tree decorations.

Good luck with all the waiting today x

  23. yes! I have to start lifting weights just so I can lift the box my dies are in. I even separated some out to another location. I noticed the leaping reindeer right off today. He's a cutie. I totally felt the Christmas vibe last weekend after going to a Christmas card making workshop. That feeling died away though. But hey at least I have a few cards made. Might be all that gets done but you never know. No desk today. It's terribly clean and boring as the housekeeper came yesterday. I have to tidy up or else she won't touch the room and gosh knows it always needs a good dusting and hoovering. PJ

  24. Oh, You must have a lot of fun dies for your book to be so heavy. :) The reindeer dies are cute. Happy WOYWW! #37

  25. Hope the appointments have gone well and that the waiting hasn't been too bad. John has lots of hospital appointments ... we seem to have lots of time taken up - he's up at Guy's again tomorrow. Anyway, to get to your desk - love the reindeer die and the idea of the die storage, although I started to do that and just found it too heavy and not very good if it wasn't that heavy as it didn't hold much then. Love the explosion of pen colour. - Hazel, #25 x

  26. Hope your appointment waiting goes fast without being long! I hate sitting and waiting unless I have my Kindle with me then time flies. Christmas cards have been in my work area due to a Christmas card class next month (was supposed to be this Friday but my "students" were canceling due to funerals and such so rescheduled to next month). Thanks for the visit. I hope you have a great week!

  28. Lovely desk this week, Julia - I love that folder for your dies. En masse they must weigh quite a bit. I only have a few, and they live in a box for now! Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you like my new pantry. Yes, I do smile when I open the door - I keep opening it to turn the light on and have a good look, and I keep having to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming, and that when I wake up I'll be confronted with the grotty old cupboard again! We are beyond excited about picking up our babies tomorrow - less than 24 hours to go till kitty heaven hits our house! We've got the "nursery" ready for them now and we can't wait.

    Happy WOYWW,

  30. Hi Julia, just popped back to answer your question. The book is a concertina and the clips were holding it all together as I had just glued it. I will show you the finished book but it may be some time as I am making it for one of the challenge blogs but I'll let you all know when it's live. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy crafty woyww, Angela x19x

  31. Hi Julia, thanks for the comments on my blog, things definitely don't feel the same but I'm getting there! She definitely would be pleased and especially about he top secret project which will be taking up a lot of my time over the next year. My desk and office are in desperate need of further tidying so I can sympathize with your desk tidying, never enough time in the day! Xx

  32. Very late in linking overJulia but better late than never!!!
Am out too much, too often... results in no time at home. Mercifully mostly home next two two days... phhhhhew!!!
I'm frequently guilty of similar acts with my desk, test die cutiing, tipping out pens for one, leaving messes instead of tidying as I go. My room is dreadful at moment. Too many piles.

  33. A very cute looking reindeer die - but I have to say I agree about the lack of enthusiasm for Christmas in July - I'm usually last minute with everything - so the end of November will be time enough! Sorry for the late visit (internet issues AGAIN!)

  34. Oh dear, could have sworn I'd commented but maybe that was only on your facebook post, I am losing my mind these days!
Do tell me about your die binder. I'm using old Quickutz binders which I bought magnetic sheets for. They are a bit smaller than A4 about 10"x 8" and all three are quite heavy now.
As for Christmas, I'm at the wrong one - still scrapping LAST Christmas! Oh dear but caved in and bought cards last year in the sales after Christmas so no making them this year, thought I'd have a break, might add some glitter to them though. BJ#21
